Audrey Stratton
Audrey has long been interested in cultural diversity. She has been an
Australian Volunteer, traveled in Asia and Europe, and continues to
support asylum seekers and refugees, as well as a few overseas
community projects and individuals in India and Uganda. Professionally,
Audrey has worked with many people from diverse backgrounds through a
variety of social work jobs including in her current role as a tertiary
student support staff person.

This short, fictionalised account of a brief visit to a Fijian rural village, as observed through the eyes of a western visitor, is an attempt to capture something of the daily routines and customs of Fijian villagers. It is based on several actual visits to such rural communities made by the author during her two year stay in Fiji.
