For you to have an excellent classroom Halloween party you first need to know how to decorate your classroom. Some of the coolest decorations are incredibly inexpensive so you can really do some neat things even on a tight budget!

Great Table Decorating Ideas

A bright orange paper table cloth works nicely to cover the tables especially if you are serving food. The table cloth is a lot more sanitary than a bare tabletop, which holds a lot of germs and bacteria. The solid paper table cloth gives students the option of coloring Halloween designs on it. To make a beautiful centerpiece you can just use an arrangement of white, orange and black balloons. Put the balloons together and add Halloween pictures, lollipops or plastic spiders to fill out the centerpiece.

Easy Streamer Ghosts

For a complete classroom that's ready for a great Halloween party you need to hang some decorations from the ceiling. For an easy classroom decorating idea, start with a white rectangular sheet of construction paper and tape 2 ends together to create a tube with a good size diameter. After you have the body of the ghost done you can cut some streamers using either crepe paper or white plastic trash bags. Either one works fine so it's really up to you what you want to use. Then using some tape or adhesive connect the streamers to the white construction paper. Complete the ghost by creating a scary or funny face on 1 side of the tube. Hang a bunch of the streamer ghosts around the classroom.

The Haunted Corner

If you have some children in your class who are maybe too young for the classroom party you can make a fun little haunted corner. The haunted corner does not have to be anything fancy. You can create a pretty neat one just by hanging a black sheet or piece of fabric.
When hanging up the sheet make sure you leave at least a little opening so you can see what the children are up to and make sure they are not getting in to any trouble. A couple other ideas for your haunted corner are to create fake spider webs and hang them low enough so they brush the tops of the childrens' heads as they walk in. Depending on how old the children are and how messy you believe they will get you can also put a dish of some jello with gummies and other edible things!

Halloween Activity Table

Set up a table with a variety of activities for the children. Provide small pumpkins that students can paint and then take home. A stack of colorful foam sheets can be used to create Halloween decorations that can be re-used year after year. Suggest that the students cut an oval or rectangular background for their decoration and then provide Halloween themed stencils of cats, pumpkins, ghosts, goblins, moons and witches that they can trace, cut out and glue to the background to make a Halloween scene.

Yummy Decoratives

Children seem to really enjoy doing crafts and activities, and when they are allowed to eat what they worked on when they are finished they seem to enjoy it a lot more! One edible classroom decoration idea is to allow the students to use tubes of icing to decorate muffins. Another edible activity is the spider pop. Have the children cover lollipop tops with squares of black tissue paper. Then, show them how to connect the tissue paper with four black pipe cleaners wrapped around once so that four legs stick out evenly on either side. They can then glue wiggle eyes in the center of the pipe cleaners to make eyes.

These fun classroom decorating ideas for a Halloween party require little more than the classroom craft supplies you probably already have. Add a plate of cut veggies with a choice of dips, some beverages and several fun games, and you have the recipe for a smashing classroom Halloween party!
